Environmentally Friendly

AM I REALLY HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT BY USING PLANET INK CARTRIDGES?
Choosing compatible imaging supplies is not only a smart choice for your bottom line but is also the most responsible choice for the environment.
Instead of sitting in a landfill, cartridge cores are recycled and reused after going through our stringent remanufacturing process.

When a cartridge is remanufactured, it is reused. Besides reducing consumption, reuse is the highest form of environmental responsibility. It is superior to recycling in that it doesn't use non-renewable resources to breakdown plastic and metal.  The office products remanufacturing industry has already made a substantially positive impact on the environment and the economy and will continue to do so.

Compelling statistics consumers may not be aware of include:
·         Each discarded laser cartridge adds approximately 2.5 pounds of metal and plastic waste to our landfills - waste that will take as long as 1,000 years to decompose.
·         The plastic in each new laser toner cartridge takes 3.5 quarts of oil to produce while each new inkjet cartridge requires 2.5 ounces of oil.
·         CO2 emissions during the manufacturing of a new cartridge are almost 2.5 times the emissions produced during remanufacturing.
·         It is estimated that 100 million laser and printer cartridges and 400 million inkjet printer cartridges are produced each year. Remanufacturing these 500 million cartridges will save an estimated four million cubic feet of landfill space.

Industry Leading Environmental Practices:
Planet Ink uses vertically-integrated, closed-loop environmental solutions. Our closed-loop environmental process ensures that every component of the empty cartridges collected is either remanufactured or recycled. All unusable cartridge components are sent to a grinding facility, where they are ground and recycled into new plastic products to complete this proprietary closed-loop process. All of our products use SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified packaging and contain a recycling solution in every box.

Closed Loop Process: A manufacturing process that recycles 100% of raw materials and wastes back into the production cycle.

All this, at significant savings!
